Rest and recovery are crucial if you are trying to maximize your time and efficiency at work, at home and any other waking hours. There are daily routines that are a must if we are going to achieve mastery of a peak performance life. Sleep, deep, restful sleep is at the top of that list.
Here's my "sleep hack" go to for a deep, restful night sleep.
On an empty stomach, usually 1.5 to 2 hours after eating, right before bed, I use one 5 HTP capsule and one or two berries. note... Not a handful of berries! Only one or two berries.
This puts me out quick, keeps me asleep and I'm well rested when I wake up at 0530 in the morning.
Another great "sleep hack" you can use in conjunction with 5HTP is lavender oil. Lavender oil creates a calming effect on the nervous system allowing the body to go from sympathetic (fight or flight) to parasympathetic where it can rest, recover and rejuvenate.
You can put a few drops on a cotton ball, take a few sniffs and feel the calming sensation take effect. You can also use an essential oils filter that fills the room with lavender. It shouldn't be set to be to strong or over powering. There should e a hint of it as you breathe / smell.
