What are your New Year's Resolutions?

Happy New Year!

It's resolution time.

What are yours?

Are they new resolutions or are they the same as last year and maybe the yer before? If so, what will be different this year? What will be the difference between the thoughts of vs. the actions towards pursuing your desires?

If you've been with me for at least a year, you know I really don't believe in resolutions at the beginning of the year. Why? It's simple. Nothing has changed from 12.31.2017 and 01.01.2018.

In order to have something new, we must change things we have or we're doing in order to make space for the new desires and goals we have and want to pursue.

When we shout out New Year's Resolutions they're usually on a whim. Many times after a few drinks. This leads to thinking of a nice to have and not a should or must have desire.

I use the word desire because that's what it is. We desire to have a better job. We have the desire to be in fulfilling relationships. We desire to live healthy and active lifestyles and we desire to be more within ourselves.

But, these desires of what we really want in life are sometimes, well, for some, most of the time set aside for the temporary, instant gratifications of the moment.

It doesn't have to be that way.

Start today.

Start now by sitting quietly, by yourself and writing down everything you want.

Create your ideal life, your ideal day, your ideal self. With these written out, now you can sit, imagine and create how you'll get there. Create your WHY!

WHY you desire what you want. Your WHY must be strong, it must be courageous and it must be uniquely yours.

Too many of us want to know the “how” before we have the “why”. The WHY is what drives us. It keeps us passionate and focused on purpose when things get tough. With a definite WHY, the HOW will come into place. Sometimes it will come automatically with no additional effort.

Get emotional, get fired up and be passionate when thinking of your ideal life. When you think of it, only think of it in a positive way. Think of it as if it is already you. You're already in the relationship you want. You're at your ideal body weight and doing the activities you want to do. You have the career or business created the way you want it to be. See the future as if it is already happening now.

The more you keep the thoughts and feelings of what you want in front of you, the quicker you will see “how” and the path to getting what you want.

Try it for the next 30 days and see what happens. I can promise you this, you will have more accomplished than you think is possible right now.
